Louis Poulsen VL38 Floor lamp.
The VL38 Floor lamp, designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen in the late 1930's, was originally used in the Radiohuset building (the Danish broadcasting house) in Copenhagen (today the Royal Danish Academy of Music). Both this and the VL45 pendant used in the building, then started appearing in the Louis Poulsen catalogues after WW2. It was reintroduced to the LP catalogue in 2016 with the black versions in 2017. It now features modern LED fittings for light and features 100% and 50% light settings and a timer function of off/4 hrs/8 hrs. It's painted white on the inside of the shade and fitted opal diffuser to soften the light.
The VL38 lamp series is a soft, organic retro design, another of Louis Poulsen's iconic Danish mid century designs.
