Marimekko was established in 1951 by Viljo and Armi Ratia in Finland. Originally they started out producing stunning fabrics for clothing and interiors using iconic print patterns, including the poppy print Unikko, first introduced in 1964 by designer Maija Isola, which is still as popular today as ever. Their designs are inventive yet timeless dialogue of pattern, colour and shapes, distinctive design which celebrates the art of printing.
